PATIENT’S PROFILE

Young or old men that develop an abnormal mammary tissue or fat, or either, between the pectoral and areola.

Severe self-esteem issues, especially in summer, in the gym or in intimate relationships, as there is a feminine appearance that cannot be shifted with sport or diet.

PROCEDURE

High definition liposuction is the most advanced technique that achieves the best results.

It is a simple procedure. However, it requires great ability and skill.

It consists in eliminating fat tissue with the most perfect technique, not as the most commonly used. In the case of mammary gland, there is a need for a small incision in the areola to eliminate the fat, as with lipolaser it cannot be eliminated.

The procedure is held in the hospital surgery with no need for overnight hospitalization.

Frequently asked questions about gynecomastia surgery

What is gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia is the presence of excessive volume in men’s pectorals. The size can range from a barely palpable volume to an adolescent breast and can be bilateral or unilateral. In turn, breast tissue and/or fatty tissue may develop. Gynecomastia is very complex for men and especially the younger ones. This is due to the fact that in spite of a good diet and sport, the pectorals take on a feminine shape.

How is the procedure to treat gynecomastia?

In Clinica Sanza we perform the procedure in the operating room, we do liposuction of the pectoral area decreasing the fat tissue and when the case requires because of the presence of glandular tissue we make a small incision on the edge of the areola by which we resect this tissue, without leaving visible scars.

What can I expect after surgery?

After surgery, the patient may feel somewhat uncomfortable with mild pain. This discomfort is controlled by the use of analgesics and anti-inflammatories. You will wear a bandage that will be left for the first 24 hours, and then a compression bandage 2-3 weeks.

What type of anesthesia is used?

The surgery to correct gynecomastia is performed under local anesthesia, and if necessary under sedation, this means that the patient will remain asleep during the intervention, absolutely calm, not perceive any painful stimulus and can return home the same day.

How long does the operation last? Is hospitalization necessary?

The intervention lasts 1-2 hours and is ambulatory.

How is the result, no skin left over?

With the techniques we use, we manage to remove the fat and/or mammary gland with scars of 2-3 mm and we achieve that the skin adapts perfectly and is not hanging as many patients think.

At what age is gynecomastia recommended?

When the patient has complex to go to the beach, pool, or show his male torso.
