PATIENT’S PROFILE

People with very broad and wide foreheads, very wrinkled foreheads, low foreheads from the eyebrows and nasal roots that need to be elevated, or when Botulinum Toxin does not work, or simply when the patient does not want to inject Botulinum Toxin every 4 or 6 months.

PROCEDURE

The frontal facelift is a surgical intervention previous to the appearance of Botulinum Toxin. Today we use much more modern and less aggressive techniques that offer better results than before.

The incisions can be hidden inside the scalp when the forehead is short, or in the first line of hair when we want to shorten the distance of a wide forehead, or move forward the scalp to cover the wide forehead.

If the scar comes up visible it can always be hidden with unifolicular hair micrografts that will grow perfectly in the scar and hide it completely.

The frontal facelift can be done alone or with other procedures such as facelift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty … depending on what part of the face you want to modify.

Frequently asked questions about endoscopic forehead lift surgery

How is an endoscopic forehead lift performed?

Although it is a very simple procedure it should always be performed in an operating room. It is not necessary to shave or cut any segment of the hair. The incisions are minimal and, thanks to the endoscopic technique, the procedure is very precise. An endoscopic facelift can correct in between the eyebrows, wrinkles, eliminate excess skin and elevate the eyebrows. This surgery can be performed alone or in combination with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or face lift. It is an outpatient procedure, under local anesthesia and mild sedation, with spectacular and very natural results.

At what age is it advisable to perform an endoscopic forehead lift?

We consider that there is no standard age to perform this type of procedure, but rather problems that require a solution. However, the average age at which a forehead lift is performed is from 40 years of age. It must be taken into account that there are particular genetic conditions, weight fluctuations, skin quality, external and environmental aggressions that generate stigmas that require solutions, regardless of the age of the person. At Clinica Sanza we support (when possible) small corrections on time, rather than radical changes, which translates into more natural results and a more youthful appearance, with simpler and more effective procedures.

How long do endoscopic forehead lift results last?

The endoscopic forehead lift is one of the procedures that achieves the most natural and satisfactory results. The permanence of these results depends on the combination of several factors, such as, the rythm of aging; and the interaction of defensive factors (hydration, antioxidants, etc.); and aggressors (smoking, sun exposure, pollution, etc.) of our organism. However, according to the experience at Clinica Sanza we could assign an average of results between 7 and 15 years old.

Will I feel pain after the endoscopic forehead lift?

Fortunately, at Clinica Sanza we have extensive experience with this type of minimally invasive intervention, making it a gentle, simple procedure with a short postoperative period and almost no discomfort, which is perfectly controlled by oral analgesics during the first 3 to 5 days.

Once the endoscopic forehead lift is done, when can I restart my daily activities?

Although it is a simple procedure, some swelling and bruising may appear in the temporal area, eyelids and nose. Once these signs disappear, usually within 5 to 7 days, you can begin your daily activities and social interaction.

How long does the endoscopic forehead lift procedure last??

The surgical time varies if we only perform an endoscopic frontal lifting or we combine it with other procedures such as blepharoplasty or facial lifting, although the average time of the intervention varies between one and two hours. After the intervention you will stay for a while in the recovery area of Clinica Sanza and then you will be able to return to your home.

Is it necessary to make periodic revisions after an endoscopic frontal lifting?

The procedure is ambulatory, however, after the intervention we place a compressive bandage in the intervened area, which we remove 24 hours after the intervention. Once the bandage has been removed, we advise you to go to revisions after 3 days to assess the evolution and then evaluations after a week and 15 days to remove points and see the improvement.

Is it necessary to rest and have a special diet after an endoscopic forehead lift?

Absolute rest is not necessary, although we recommend relative rest for the first 3 days, we also recommend sleeping on your back, with discreet elevation of the upper body and face to reduce inflammation. Eating paterns after the first day can be normal, although hard foods that involve too much effort to bite or chew for at least the first 3 days should be avoided.

What can I do if swelling and bruising appear after surgery?

If swelling and small bruises appear after the endoscopic frontal lifting, we recommend some manual lymphatic drainage sessions that speed up the recovery process and, above all, do not expose yourself to the sun until the bruises disappear.

Will I be able to wash my hair after the operation?

You can wash your hair with antiseptic shampoo on the 3rd day of the operation, to avoid the accumulation of grease or sebum from the hair on the stitches, we recommend drying with a cold air hair dryer to keep the wounds dry after the cleaning, we do not recommend applying dyes or straightenings until 3 weeks after the operation.
