The threads are inserted under the skin and tightened along the forehead until the eyebrows are placed at the desired height.

There are several types of yarns on the market. The most commonly used are silhouette sutures, i.e. with resorbable cones. These sutures offer the possibility of retensioning 3 months after placement in case the patient requires or desires a higher elevation.

Which patients require a brow lift?

In Clinica Sanza we recommend brow lift to patients in which the distance between the upper eyelid and the eyebrow is diminished, either on one side or both, usually the causes that generate this ptosis or fall are:

Patients with congenital problems affecting the situation of one or both eyebrows (eyebrow ptosis).
Patients with sequelae of accidents or surgeries that affect the position of the eyebrow.

At what age can I consider a brow lift?

Eyebrow drooping is not necessarily a problem linked to aging, as we have pointed out above, the causes can be very varied, so the correction can be carried out at any age.

Is the placement of tensor threads to raise the eyebrow considered a surgical procedure?

Yes. Although it is a minimally invasive procedure, which must be performed by a specialist physician under sterile conditions, and can be performed under local anesthesia or occasionally with mild sedation, it is an outpatient procedure with a very short recovery time.

When will I see results after the placement of the tensor threads?

The result is immediate and you will see it once the intervention is finished, in other cases it is possible that you may have to place the tensor threads and wait 2 to 3 months to perform the tension and the consequent elevation to the desired level and it is then when you will see the definitive results.

Is the placement of tensor threads painful to raise the eyebrow?

No. Whichever technique is used, it is practically painless, although a certain tension and inflammation may be noticed, which disappears after a few days and is perfectly controlled with oral anti-inflammatory drugs.

Can I resume my daily activities after the brow lift?

Practically yes, after 24 to 48 hours you could resume your daily activities, being careful not to perform intense physical exercise or contact sports for approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
